| savage geniusサヴィッジ・ジーニアス Aa (vo), Takumi (former prod) ♦ status → active | major » flying DOG / Victor Entertainment ♦ info → official site (jp) | jpop stop | wikipedia♦ sounds like → ANGELA, Jyukai, eufonius, ELISA, Ceui, Suara ♦ genres → pop, pop-rock, acoustic, guitar pop, power pop ♦ support → yesasia | cdjapan | hmv | amazon (jp)
♦ sarah's note → Like many other duos, savage genius was a two-member jpop duo known for their many anime tie-in songs. In 2008 however, member Takumi left but vocalist Aa has continued releasing under savage genius's name. The group produced typically anime genre music with both acoustic and electronic influences. Aa's voice is similar to other singers in this genre and she uses it well. Since Takumi's departure she has released several singles produced by her as well as other artists. I would suggest grabbing "Sora no Kotoba" to try. ( Singles )( Albums )→ Report Broken Links | comments: 8 comments or Leave a comment |

| Under the Counterアンダー・ザ・カウンター Kentaro Sekiya (vo, gt), Yohei Yoshimura (gt, cho), Tomotaka Osumi (ba), Yuko Yamawaki (dr) ♦ status → active | major » Universal Music Japan ♦ info → official site (jp) | jpop stop | wikipedia (jp)♦ sounds like → the pillows, NICO touches the walls, Base Ball Bear, Art-School, The Novembers, Tsubaki, People in the Box ♦ genres → alternative rock, rock, pop-rock, acoustic, guitar pop ♦ support → yesasia | cdjapan | hmv | amazon (jp)
♦ sarah's note → Under the Counter is a four-member jrock band. Originally on the Japan Crown label they have not moved to Universal and have only a modest sized discography. Don't let their sedate looks fool you. Under the Counter has got a great full rock sound that bounces between medium-paced and mellow. Kentaro's vocals are sort of generic but suit their music well. I would suggest grabbing either "Permanent Vacation" or "Dasenai Tegami" to try. ( Singles )( Mini-Albums )( Albums )→ Report Broken Links | comments: 9 comments or Leave a comment |

♦ sarah's note → MEG is a recognized electronica artist currently produced by capsule and Perfume producer Nakata Yasutaka. She very much fits into the genre nicely and is also known as a model which is reflected in the very editorial style of her album covers. MEG has got a good voice for the style of music she sings for and her music is highly recognizable. If you are a fan of electronic/techno music she is a must listen. I would grab one of her singles to try. ( Singles )( Mini-Albums )( Albums )( Remix Album )→ Report Broken Links | comments: 19 comments or Leave a comment |

♦ sarah's note → LITE is a four-member instrumental jrock band. They excel at creating interesting songs driven by a formulaic type sound. Out of all the instrumental bands I've ever heard they are probably my favorite. Their driven sound is addicting and I wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone. I would pick up their album "Phantasia" especially their song "Ghost Dance". ( EPs )( Live EPs )( Albums )( Split EP )→ Report Broken Links | comments: 12 comments or Leave a comment |

♦ sarah's note → muramasa is an 8-member j-ska band who disbanded this year. Like many other j-ska bands the group excels at blending the tones of their brass instruments with a pop/rock sensibility. They have got an adorable vocalist and have a catalog of memorable songs. I suggest nabbing their best album in order to try. | Happy New Year! I hope everyone is having a safe and fun New Year's Day. The first post of 2010 has been made and there will be a bunch more today to celebrate in addition to other posts made of my other comms. Posting might be a little sporadic because I caught a cold coming home from Disney World and I have had it all week. But putting that aside, I hope everyone has a good and safe holiday!
And in other unofficial but slightly important news I've added a new tag:
discography-status: active discography-status: complete
This tag will be used to let you guys know which discographies are complete and which are not. This "active" tag will apply to artists who have continued to release new material but their entry is missing something and those who have stopped releasing new material. This tag will apply until their entry is complete.
[/random]
Go have fun. :3 | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

♦ sarah's note → NICO Touches the Walls is a young band started around 2006. They released a few indies CDs before being signed to Ki/oon Records where they have released the bulk of their discography. They have a typical alternative rock sound that matches many other jrock groups. All in all their sound is solid with a strong vocalist coupled with memorable music they are a band you want to try. I would suggest nabbing their single "Hologram" to try. ( Singles )( Mini-Albums )( Albums )→ Report Broken Links | comments: 20 comments or Leave a comment |

| Not sure if anyone else has already found this or posted this, but I was browsing Jpopsuki and found some high definition TV rips from Inazuma Rock Fes!! They're pretty big (2,5 gb for the abs part, 4,3 gb for the TMR part!) but the quality is SUPERRR nice!
You gotta be a member to download torrents from there, so if you don't have an account, you'll have to make one (it's free).

Sorry if this isn't allowed, if so you can delete this post. Just wanted to give a heads up :D
Also, maybe someone can enlighten me: who is the guy who "performed" HIGH PRESSURE with Takanori? He seems to be quite famous but his name doesn't ring a bell with me. Does anyone know?
The TAKUYA collab isn't included in neither of those files though, unfortunately. Still looking for a good rip of that one.
Well, enjoy anyways!
